What is amber? In this movie we can see perfectly preserved insects ranging from extremely rare to very common. Each insect has been given a qualification by Dr. Ross, designating the specimen as ER, VR, R, C and VC. These qualifications indicate Dr. Ross's assessment of the scientific rarity of the insects from Extremely Rare to Very Rare, Rare, Common and Very Common. The qualifications therefore represent Dr. Ross's extensive scientific knowledge based on years of research of private and public collections. Each piece is unique.
If only they could speak.Despite being silenced for 40 million years scientists can piece together a lot of information from the perfectly preserved insects trapped in amber. Their story can be retold in fine detail but what a fantastic tale they could tell if only they could speak to us once more....
