LDS Home Storage Center (a.k.a. The Dry Pack)

Here's a little, home-made video of one of the LDS Home Storage Centers, made back in early 2007. With recent events making food and fuel more expensive, the counsel to acquire your food storage is quite timely and may prove life-saving. I hope you will follow the inspired counsel to lay up in store now. It will bring great peace of mind, knowing that you can provide food for your family should the need arise.

We can begin with a one week's food supply and gradually build it to a month, and then to three months. . . . I fear that so many feel that a long-term food supply is so far beyond their reach that they make no effort at all. Begin in a small way, . . . and gradually build toward a reasonable objective."

@DeadApp Not here. The canning machines at the Home Storage Ctrs are for the #10 cans (hold about 1 gallon worth of stuff). If you're have trouble finding a place to store these, you might be able to fit them under a bed. I know someone who has cans of wheat and rice under their beds.

It's called a Mylar Bag Sealer. You can find them on eBay, Amazon, etc. There are even handheld versions. It just melts the mylar bag together along the edge. An iron or soldering iron would do the job too.
