A Michigan boy becomes a 10th Mountain man.
Mr. Todd was only fifteen days past his eighteenth birthday when he enlisted in the 10th Mountain Division. He carried an early 35mm camera, an Argus C3, through two years of training in the Colorado Rockies and into battle in Northern Italy in the closing months of World War II. The color and black and white photographs document one boy's growth into a Mountain Man. Mr. Todd narrated his story to his grandson in 2006.
My great uncle was a pilot in WW2, he got shot down, not sure if it was at Pearl Harbor or later. I think he spent the rest of the war in an Allied Prison camp.

My father was in the 10th mountain division in world war 2 and was also from Michigan (upper Peninsula). My father passed in 2001. I'm wondering if he knew Mr. Todd as he was also stationed at Lake Garda, Italy. His name was Gunnard Coleman.
