seriously? ... take the time to give it a serious listen. He points out fundamental differences between Canadians and the rest of the world. That we aren't definable in a beer commercial, that we range from 'greasy spoon diners' to 'healthy living cafes' That we're conscious of a generation beyond our own and preservation. As for your comment about how trivial 'please' and 'thank you' are: Take the time to travel... seriously Canadians are loved throughout the world for that reason.

People who are actually bashing this poem need to listen to it more then once. Everything he says about all the "please and thank you" and shit is specified as "what you might think" His message is that "we are more than what you think we are" So to anyone who is just bashing the poetry and Canada itself are just examples of why he is trying to get his message across. Canada is more than what you think it is.

Let me just say, a year before the Olympics I moved to America. I was in highschool. I missed it so much, and felt like I missed so much. But when I heard this poem, I cried. So beautiful. I'm not an emotional person, but this touch my heart. Lovely job Shane :)
