epiphany uses gecko man.
there is a webkit version but the devolopers dont recommend using it.
the one that come with gnome uses gecko.
and i agree with you rendering engines opinion.
togh im using firefox 3.6a1 becuse i need my vimperator.
but its ok, its onl a matter of time since someone wirte vimperator for midori.

But epiphany uses webkit and it failed. And also, here is my opinion on rendering engines.
1) Webkit
2) KHTML
3) Gecko
4) Others
5) Trident

its not midori programmer to praise,
is the webkit guys every browser wib webkit will scrore 100/100.
remember kids webkit is based of KHTML.
