The Page technique is described as a method to treat hypothyroidism. The anterior pituitary gland is seldom treated and it is often under functioning in hypothyroidism. Thyroid should be added last and only after the anterior pituitary is functioning properly. Sometimes thyroid is not necessary at all. www.pittsburgh-dentist.com and www.gethealthcaresolutions.com

  • i used to be skinny BUT THEN stupid Hypothyroidism had to ruin it!! now im fat im chuby & i cant lose weight i try &try & my 15 is cominq D: tear tear

  • @liu12ish Contact someone who knows the Page technique and get your pituitary corrected first and you might also need thyroid but the pituitary has tro be corrected first. R.F.

  • Some physicians are trained in the proper technique but they are rare. I have trained a few. Many hypothyroids are low in whole pituitary. This has to be added first then the thyroid is added last usually at a much smaller dosage. R. Forbes

  • I have hypothyroidism but my condition is quite rare as i have been told. I have the gland but its as if i dont have it as it does not work atall. I have to take 1 tiny tablet for the rest of my life and if i dont then i can get seriously, seriously ill. This has been with me for all my life and i feel i am underwaight because of this.

  • You should get my book The Hormone Mess and How To Fix It and measure yourself and determine your inherited glandular pattern. You can send me your figures and I can give you an opinion, N.C.. R. Forbes

  • I was diagnosed two weeks after i was born Im 17 right now is it true that people that have hypothyroidism are usually overweight? Im only 125 lbs is that normal ?

  • There are many people if not more who are normal weight that have hypothyroidism.

  • @liu12ish i have the same thing but i watch what i eat and exercize everyday and i'm fine

  • Dude you rock!

I currently am recuperating from pituitary surgery and recently found out that my pitutary was not making enough tsh. It's sad that most doctors and endocrinologist's are so woefully ignorant about the pituitary.

  • An underrated underresearched illness that needs to be taken seriously so we can get on with our lives we need a Take the Thyroid seriously day.

  • I have this, my legs wouldn't work and I couldn't walk. It started to affect the other muscles in my body. I went to hospital and later found out tha tis was Hypothyroidism messing up my Potasium levels.

From being quite bulky with a muscluar build, I've lost about 20kg over the last year and looking skinny.

If anyone has weird weakness in their legs - go to the docs and eat some fish, bananas, kiwi fruit and oranges in the meantime. If you have underactive thyroids, lay off these foods.

  • I have this too and it sucks! I have gained so much weight! I used to take levothyroxine and that was horrible so now I am on synthroid which seems to be helping but I really wanna be able to loose weight again! I gained 35 lbs freshmen year of college and I haven't been thin since!

  • OH! The synthroid crap doesn't work for me either. Im currently in winter clothing, with thick wool socks and slippers... My feet are still freezing, along with my hands. I constantly feel tired, I'm 17 and weigh about 126lbs. I workout often, and as a result I have lots of muscle which contribute to most of my weight composition. However, I continue to strive for less-fattened abdomenals.
