This shakuhachi has only one node at the middle, a top node at the utaguchi and a bottom node. The top section has a fatter diameter and thinner wall which sucks in a maximized volume of air and builds up a loud sound. The lower part has thicker walls and smaller bore which funnels the sound, plus creates back pressure for clearer kan notes. It is a jinashi and is pure bamboo.
