1:1 copy of the Ultrafly P-51 reusing the canopy, compressor intake and some plastic parts of the original plane after a crash.

In the P-51 and in the Ki-61 I used a central servo for the mains. It is best to use a 180° servo rather than a standard one (see my Ki-61 blog at the end). You can also buy 180° servos (I was not able to place the link here).

The retracts in the P-51 were from E-flite I think I got in a local hobby shop, but there are others available.Today there are also a number of servoless retracts available that make the installation much easier (again, I could not place the link here to hobbyking).

Really good question. I didn't keep track of the parts and materials. For this one I didn't even make plans, just measured the Ultrafly remains and made most parts from 6mm cell foam. The wing skins are 3mm cell foam (See some pics in my blog).

I bought some sheets at at local hobby shop, maybe $20...$25 for this plane. But then you still need all the electronics, CF tubes, paint, little hardware etc.
Today I prefer Depron, but it's better to buy much more because of the shipping costs. Then you can build a couple of planes. My Tony is build similar, but from Depron.
