I used to think The Young Turks were so right about everything until I noticed how full of biases you all are. First of all the Republican Party has and never was the country's liberal party -- classical liberal yes, but that is the same thing as modern conservatism. Evidence of this is written in the works of Edmund Burke, the father of modern day conservatism, which predates the Republican Party. Those views have never changed and we always believed against slavery - as conservatives!
