On June 9, 2010, at Hultsfred Airport, Sweden, Boije Ovebrink aimed for two new truck racing world records: 500 and 1000 metres from standing start. And he did it: The new records are average speeds of 130.862 kph (500 m) and 166.698 kph (1,000 m). When Boije crossed the 1,000-metre line, he was driving at more than 250 kph.
The record attempt was surveilled by a FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) representative and the records are unofficial until approved by FIA.
