The Eureka High Players and the Bare-Stage Singers presented Steven Sondheim's "Into the Woods" in March/April 2007. There were 2 casts for the production, named for the Brother's Grimm - Jacob and Wilhelm.
I'll be posting the songs from the play for each cast.

  • he's so much better than the guy in the other cast

  • It was not a competition. This young man has a lot more experience and is part of a local musical theater troup, and I believe it was the first musical for "Jack" in the Jacob cast. I found both performances delightful and enjoyed the different takes on the character.

  • great job! not only can you sing, you were clear! i understood everything you said.

Thats the number one problem with seeing musicals.

I've seen so many "professional" ones that were SO poorly done, not because people were bad actors or singers, but because you couldnt understand them. so insanely unclear.

if i didnt know the words by heart going in, I wouldnt be able to understand the words, and would miss most of the plot.

  • rly good. im auditioning in about 2 weeks! i want this part =D

  • The breathing they are referring to are the ones he takes mid sentance, between phrases. For instance in the first quick verse, he breathe's like right in the middle of each phrase. "When your way up high and you look below at the world you left and the things you know *breath* little more than a glance is enough to show you just how small you are"

He should be able to do the entire phrase... Thats of what they speak.

  • He did a great job! This is my favorite song in the whole play! And I can't say that I noticed any breathing, even when I was listening for it after reading other comments.

  • his breaths are very annoying

  • If this guy is experienced how come he doesn't take in proper breaths.

  • He did a great job of breaking the cardinal rule; breathing in the wrong places and not singing through his phrases.

  • It was good until the ending.
