Eric Whitacre directing Lux Arumque in the middle of a thunderstorm in Laval, Quebec. The thunder is incredible during the piece, and all the lights get knocked out on the very last note! Very cool for a song all about light....

  • Sorry for the loud audience at the end - I'm crap at editing video so you might have to just turn it down at the end.

  • The lights going out at the end was NOT a staged special effect - the power was knocked out by the thunderstorm a few times that night - this was just incredibly perfect timing!

  • that was so cool!!!!!!

  • i wish some day i can see eric whitacre live, thats my dream

  • Wow, that high note near the beginning sounded a little off

  • REALLY wish the audience had not freaked out so that they could have sustained that last note. INCREDIBLE performance. He timed the entrances with the thunder too... /swoon. If I could, I'd marry this man!

  • That was awesome!! Sometimes I don't like Whitacre but Lux Aurumque is beautiful.

Could you edit out the distorted scream at the end though? I was listening on headphones and it scared the hell out of me.

  • somehow, even the forces of nature respect music greatly written. =)

  • Sweet

  • What a great effect! The choir was great as well! I love it!
