This is true, unfortunately. That's why it's so important to be trained in hypnosis correctly. I enjoy these thought provoking conversations, cresume! Drop me a line any time if you'd like...

We are both obviously just sitting at our computers - thanks for your quick reply. My point was really that the will to resist just appears weakened and therefore to my observations of this particular set of incidents I cavil with your view that the volunteer always has control. The volunteering capacity diminishes and control ability gets reduced. You then simply have to rely on the integrity of the hypnotist. Many amateurs don't have it!

True, there are people who seem to go under hypnosis very easily, however you can NEVER be hypnotized if you truly don't want to be. If someone is hypnotized and doesn't like it, then 1) there is a good chance the hypnotist said something that made them uncomfortable (words like "obedient, under my control" ect) 2) then the hypnotist should NEVER put them under again if they don't want to go under. But remember....the volunteer will still always have control. :) I enjoy your deep thinking!

some people get "power crazed" in a way. It just shows the immaturity of some people. Not much of anything to do with age either....I know of several professional hypnotists who enjoy that "power" over the well being and sake of the volunteer.
Always treat your volunteers with respect!!

I saw it for myself. we would be in a group and he would just start talking to her and she would be under. She would come out of it and be deeply disturbed. She ended up leaving our group

yep some people are real creeps with hypno..how did she know that he hypnotized her?

Ok. But I was not completely honest..My enquiry came from watching someone who had been hypnotised previously being talked to by the hypnotist until she went to "sleep" even though she said she didn't really want to be hypnotized. My observations were that she was clearly conditioned and her conscious mind could not control her unconscious. The "hypnotist" who is now a "former" friend of hers got a real buzz out of the "power" her held over this girl. To be avoided for the unwary in my view.

HI. I have never been hypnotized, I am also new to you tube!! But I am very interested to know if once you have been hypnotized you become more susceptible to suggestion. Also once you have hypnotized someone are you confident you can induce a hypnotic state even if the person attempts to resist??

how long this desputes go on?do we all need a rapid hypnotic techinique lessons?how does it works?it def has smthen to do with power of unconscious mind like tk or pk...thats is key for all supernatural abilities..as long as one unable to focus or train to utilise that power its hard to hypnotise or doing smthen like mind over matter.thats why most pupils fail to do in many things.the key behind hypnotism/t.k/p.k are all same...the power is same ..
katherineanne, In taking a real close look at this instant/rapid induction, when exactly did your subject actually go into a hypnotic trance ? Due to background noise I could not determine if you actully gave the "sleep" suggestion when he initially lost his balance and fell forward. Thanks again for this textbook video on instant induction.

I'd say he was in a deep level of trance at 37 seconds....he was already out and the swaying made him go very deep. This was actually my first induction I ever tried, so I was doing deepening when he really didn't need it. Looking back, I would have just started the suggestions instead of the deepening. But hey, you learn with your experiences. :)
