This is a Yorkshire Television start-up from March 1977, around the time that their breakfast television programme began at 0830 hours in the days before the start of TV-am. Redvers Kyle provides the announcement.

  • Yorkshire. Or as it's also known by the looks of the map, Lincolnshire.

  • @ajay999999 almost - it was written by Derek New and arranged by Ron Goodwin, who as you say wrote the Dambusters music.

Oh and congratulations to Cwilliams1976 for actually uploading something genuine and useful for once :)

  • @stedav100 should have also stated that I remember the 1968-69 version more!

  • @stedav100 I totally agree stedav100

  • @steviep33 Its the Yorkshire television march by Ken Goodwin similar to his battle of britain theme.

  • There must be some engineer at YTV who knows what this music is called, really brings back the memories

  • Excuse me, but since when was north Norfolk part of Yorkshire? It's part os East Anglia. So by rights, Anglia TV should cover that area.

Same goes for Nottingham and Derby. They are in the West Midlands s Central TV should have covered that area.

  • Goes on a bit dunt it?

  • I love Yorkshire Television and proud to be from Yorkshire. YTV has produced so many programmes. Emmerdale, Countdown, 321, Heartbeat, A Touch Of Frost, The Darling Buds Of May, Raggy Dolls, Puddle Lane, etc etc.

  • I suppose it does make you proud to be from Yorkshire, but though I was born in Yorkshire we never had Yorkshire TV, perhaps I should have been born in Kings Lynn in Norfolk - they got Yorkshire TV.The whole thing was absurd
