  • Maybe it's the way we teach science to our students that is to blame. Science is just another text book of "correct" answer/statements to be memorized as facts to regurgitate in an exam. Even during labs that supposedly demonstrate science in action, it's just an exercise of following a list of "correct" actions dictated by the instructions of the exercise to achieve that single "correct" laboratory data.
