  • oh my...this piece is not for middle school children..The score clearly states SATB Level 4...ouch...The soprano 1's that have the high F# descending, hurt my ears...Maybe give this to your high school's director??

  • The score clearly states that this is an SA arrangement. Often the same piece will be arranged for SA or SSA, SAB or 3-part mixed, and SATB. This is one of those many pieces (see the Pepper catalog for 50,000,000 more). I've done this with high school kids, and it would be okay for a concert choir, but it's too easy for a select group.

  • Overall, it's pretty good, but I think the choir was a bit faster than the piano and the piano had to do some cataching up. By the way, my school's choir is doing this song too. Seriously though, I'm at 2:30 and it's so much faster than the beggining. They also breathed at the wrong places. Yeah, maybe I'm being harsh, but someone has to say this stuff. Like I said, for 6th graders, it's awesome.

  • it definitely did speed up--in the scheme of things, not a huge deal. i've seen high school choruses do the same piece and have a much more dramatic change in tempo. you're wrong about the breathing; but my kids know i'm an absolute nut about breath marking. maybe you did a different version of it. thanks for your feedback!

  • I am singing this for chior. haaha(: I can deffinaltly hear the parts. we have it just just 7th & 8th grade girls. yeah. for 6th grade this is good. (: I love this song! haha. its one of the coolest songs we have!

  • I already am...This is my son's account...

  • my choir is singing this

  • you're adorable--i hope you're planning on becoming a music teacher someday.

  • Just because you have a select group doesn't mean that you can only punch out high collegiate materials and ignore the fact that all choirs need to work on sound and blend, why not work on these with easy materials, use techniques that can be used later one when attacking an Arvo Part piece or a William Byrd, John Rutter, etc.

  • That may be so, but select groups that are able to use pieces like this will A) Improve their sight reading/singing by using intervals they already know or have heard by ear because the combined tunes are well known B) be able to perfect their sound as a group because they wont be too worried about getting the notes and rhythms with a piece like this, it will be a lot easier for them to learn, even with a select group.

  • Im doing this for choir also....the vowels need a little work but good job!! :)

  • the kids sound great but their facial expressions look like arent having any fun at all and that makes the song sound very dull but if they smile it would be perfect great job !!
