  • oh and thats only 1 week of surfing experience overall. so i wanna be smart about board sizes and good buys for the future

  • @B3ACHBUMM619

If you go longer, the board will be more stable. I have years of surfing experience on a wide range of boards. If you want to get into more high performance surfing, the Smaller Y-Quads are the way to go. 6ft and under.

After riding both of these, the 5'6" is much more fun. More responsive, and the float is about equal.

Check out Catch Surf's website, or look for them on Facebook. They can answer your questions and guide you in the right direction.

    -Cheers

  • i am 5' 6'' 130 lbs

i surf a longboard i want to get a y-quad should i get the 6' 6'' like the website says or should i go for the 6' or 5' 6' thanks for the help

  • @deadliest1catch5

Get the 5'6". At your size, you could even ride the 5'0".

They are pretty easy to ride. Just takes a few waves to get used to the board.

  • Whats your weight because i wana get the 6 y quad. im 5' 10" and im 170 pounds i ride a 6' 4" shortboard

  • @mmxp13

    Sorry for the delayed response.

    I'm 5'10" and 165+lbs.

You can definitely ride the 5'6" model! It works better than the 6'0".

I'm going to step down to the 5'0" soon.

  • Hey Craig,

Im 14, weigh 110, and i'm 5'4". I want to know what I should ride. A 5'6" or a 6'0". I don't want to step all the way down to 5'0", but what do you think?

P.S. I am an experienced in long boarding and a little bit in short boarding.

    Thanks,

    Shane
