This is my first tarpon, this was at the north of South Padre Island Tx, on the Jetties, Nov 23 2010, i caught it with 3/4 oz. Rat-L-Trap chrome blue back. Also 2 oversize red red drums. The wind was at 25 mph so i cant get into the water to fish in my kayak. Pesca de Sabalo.

  • srry for questions but how many pounds was fish how much pounds could the line hold and what lure

  • @victopshot17 I was using 30 pounds braided line, and like 150 yards, so all depends the size of the tarpon you caught, one of my fishing partners caught one really big, and he was using 50 pounds braided line, the tarpon run away it took the 300 yards and snap the line.

  • wish my first tarpon could be at least that big...I wish my dad would like to do something like that...

  • @DavidAPerez1 Hey by mistake i click on THUMBS DOWN sorry about that, hey come on, you can fish by your self, or tell your dad, just be patient some time you can go and catch nothing.

  • Great catch man.. been a couple years since I fished there, but will be thinking about the next time. One hell of a catch, you showed great skill in waiting the fish out as landing anything on those rocks is a challange be it light tackle or not. Keep up the great work and catch one for me!

  • @OneFun71 Thanks a lot man !!!! and yes, it was a challenge with a light tackle, but its more fun, and i promise to chatch one for you, and put the video on YOUTUBE ;)
