Charmaine Piche's salon creative colouring tutorial demonstrates a pivoting colour gradient technique which carefully places a lighter shade on the longer lengths of the haircut and gradually deepens to a deep base to reveal and accentuate the layers.
Starting with a triangular section, the technique begins on the left-hand side of the section with small thin sections and placing back-to-back slices throughout to pre-lighten. A medium intense red brown base colour is then added to the remaining hair around the perimeter. On the right hand side larger triangle section in the top, a light intense red violet brown tone is added.
Once processed add a pure orange pigment, and pure red pigment to the pre-lightened area, to achieve a striking spectrum of orange and reds pivoting through the front to accentuate the longer lengths and reveal the detail of the layering framed by a rich red base.
