Dennis and Marley finally emerge from the coat closet looking only slightly mussed. Donna asks Marley where she's been. Marley replies that Dennis was just showing her this little game he used to play. When Dennis says it was a great party, Donna replies that she's sorry he missed it. Dennis says he and Marley had a wonderful time, really, then asks where Iris is. Rachel tells him that she went to find Hank and she's worried about Tommy. Dennis and Marley tell Rachel and Donna to tell Iris they enjoyed themselves a lot. They say their good nights to Rachel, Donna, and John, then get on the elevator, where Dennis notices mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, and he and Marley start kissing again as the doors close and bear them away. Donna asks what that man has done to her Marley, and John replies that it's legal in most states. He goes on to say that Frankie says that the stars line up in certain positions around the holidays, and it makes people do strange things. Rachel says she's noticed that, and asks Donna why she and Matthew had their heads together earlier. Donna says she just wanted to tell Matthew how grown-up he's gotten and that Rachel should be proud of him. Rachel says she is, and that she'd like to stay around, but she has an affiliates meeting in the morning, so she says her good nights and leaves after Donna offers to stay and wait for Iris. After Rachel leaves, John asks Donna what's up with her and Matt; he knows that Donna is desperate to find a date for Vicky's wedding, but she doesn't really think that showing up with a younger guy will make Michael jealous, does she? Donna says that it has nothing to do with Michael or the wedding and tells John to drop it, saying it's hard enough to face the holidays alone. Then she tells John that she was thinking she'd move in with him and Gregory over the holidays and they could have an old-fashioned country Christmas together. John is surprised that Donna wants to move out to the farm, and asks how long she wants to stay. He's even more surprised when Donna says she wants to stay through the end of January, and that she, John and Gregory can have Christmas and New Year's and Little Christmas and Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. John says they can have pretzels and beer on Super Bowl Sunday too. John wonders why Donna wants to come out to the farm and shovel snow every day instead of staying in her nice, warm apartment planning the wedding of the year. Donna replies that Grant hired a wedding planner, so Victoria doesn't need her, and Marley and Dennis have each other. Nobody needs her, and she's had it with her family. It might be fun for her to be an old-fashioned farm girl for awhile. John laughs out loud at this, but tells Donna that she knows she's more than welcome to stay with him. Besides, if she stays out at the farm, he can work on her a little bit and find out what her real problem is. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
