There is no doubt among land speed racers that the Speed Demon in one fast car. However, the speed this single engine, piston powered streamliner would achieve in 2011 would make it an icon in land speed racing history.

  • Yes. Duttweiler is truly an engine-building genius. Lack of power isn't their problem. Not at all. It's trying to get that power to the rear wheels without breaking something.

    George is tenacious if not driven to get the 450 record and then the 500. Whether he and the team will be able to say that they're the first over 500 is far from settled. There are several other teams that would like to claim the same thing.
