For me who is a Swede, is sounds like a mix of Swedish, Danish & Norwegian words with a Finnish accent. It's also some new words and pronunciations. In iceland they use words and letters who was used in the whole nordic area in the Viking era. It's an older Language. The accent is much more alike Finnish than Norwegian, Danish or Swedish. Im half Finnish as well.

Oh my god..! I'm Finnish and you are right. The accent does sound like the Finnish accent. And I thought there was no language in the world that had an accent like Finnish. It's closer to a Finnish accent than an Estonian accent, and Icelandic and Finnish are not even in the same language family.

Not true, there are some websites that allow you to learn different languages for free. Livemocha(.)com is probably the best one though, I'm currently using it to learn Swedish. :)

Icelandic wasn't too hard to learn as the female in the video would let you believe. I do speak German and English so maybe that helped I don't know. The only issue is when it's spoken it's incredibly fast so that's why you don't hear individual words, more so just a jumble of sounds.

It may sound Finnish sometimes, but I actually think it sounds closer to Welsh.

As a Swedish speaker, I can understand a lot of Icelandic words but can't understand the sentences.

Yes, he has a talent... BUT! Icelandic is not a totally different language for an English speaker! The passive vocabulary and some elements of grammar he has already at his disposal!
