The conflict in Sudan's Darfur region has forced some 250,000 refugees across the border into Chad, where they are housed in 12 refugee camps. Rebel groups from Darfur and Chad -- as well as the Chadian Army itself -- often use the camps to help fill their ranks, including the recruitment of children. Freelance journalist David Axe traveled to Chad this summer, where he visited a refugee camp and looked at this issue. He also toured a school set up to help former child soldiers.
