I'm from New Zealand & watched this all unfold, watching it from every angle.... It's true that in war no side is 100% innocent but from where I sit, Sakaashvili need to resign. He's guilty as hell. The Ossetians are the only innocent ones in this farce, they want independence from both Russia & Georgia but they might need to be enveloped into the Russian fold to be safe from brutal, unstable idiots like the Georgian president.

I am not as stupid as you think. No I have only visited Japan, Tanzania, Bolivia and Mexico. Mexico both northern, southern and central parts, all in about ten different visits over the last 30 years. But I agree with you that we are losing our freedoms here in America. I have heard that Australia is very open and free there. I guess I keep comparing North America with Mexico, the people have very little freedom of speech. 2nd highest rate of journalists killed, soon we might be next?

I have lived many years in both Australia & India. Australia has more freedom than the USA. India has MUCH more freedom than either the USA or Australia. Also America has the highest incarceration rate in the world. That is NOT freedom!

Well Michael, I totally agree with you about the American Media. You should obviously see that in my first post.

But presently this is still the most free country. This is soon about to end though. I have always wanted to visit Eurasia. Especially Ukraine. And Russia. But I have heard that Moscow is the most expensive place to visit in the world.

Gorbachev is a very credible person and his words are to be taken seriously. It was Gorbachev, after all, who opened the Soviet Union to allow glasnost and peristrika that eventually set the East free by tearing down the Berlin Wall in 1989. Gorbachev is a world hero.
