The SALSAstand is an external fixator device which is useful in the post-op course of foot amputations and diabetic/decubitus ulcers. It works in a number of ways, which include manipulation of the foot and leg to prevent contractures or post amputation deformities, it allows elevation and protection of the foot and leg during dressing changes or non-weight bearing conditions, and prevents decubitus ulcers or destruction of skin flaps and grafts.

  • @audayhussain2 This ex fix serves two purposes. First, the trans-met bar is used to keep the foot in dorsiflexion to prevent equines contracture, post amp. Second, the Frame is designed to keep the patient's heel off weight bearing while in bed rest to prevent decubitus ulceration.

  • please tell me this external fixation is for what?
