Bunch of Microsofties got together this week to play some charity gigs. With two short practices we were off and running. Enjoy excerpts from Mulligan's 'Red Door', 'Makin' Whoopie', Basie's 'Hayburner', and Gershwin's 'Summertime'.

Solos by Scott Dart on lead tenor, Gordon Brown on lead alto, and Gary Anderson on lead trumpet.

  • Yup, that's Gordon Brown who was at Microsoft; he's now the lead alto for the Jazz Police. And Scott Dart is on lead tenor--he also plays with the DoctorfunK band. The drummer is the incredible Tim Coffey.

  • Really, you recognized Mulligan and Zoot's "The Red Door". I guess I have to get more adventurous. ;o)

  • You all sound great.

  • Isn't Hayburner by Sammy Nestico?

  • Yet another reason to work for Microsoft - they have a bigband!!!! Great performance guys and girls! Just goes to show, you can make blue-notes as well as blue-screens ;-) (sorry, had to :-P)

  • Gandalfe,
