@ManInControI It wasn't the fact that he was knocking out over matched and scarred opponents, it's the fact he was doing it QUICKER and more IMPRESSIVELY than anyone else at the time - you can say what you will about his opponents but in his prime his speed, athleticism, defence and power were a sight to behold REGARDLESS of the opposition

@GlovesupSwampyYes he was knocking out scared and overmatched opponents quicker and more impressively. Agreed on that, but what makes a fighter great? What made Ali Great? his one sided wins or his wars with Frazier, Norton, Foreman?

My point is whenever serious questions were asked of Tyson in the ring, he lost; twice sitting on his ass and quitting.

All you young Tyson groupies need to ask yourselves what makes a fighter great? The ability to knockout over matched scared opponents who are not fighting back? Or the ability to overcome adversity and fight and beat all the best fighters of their era and provide the fans with truly epic fights?

Tyson failed on all those counts

@pounder2day Mike was not in the top five..he never once shown hart or guts in the ring. He couldn't fight on the inside and from the sixth round on stopped using his Jab, stopped throwing combinations and stopped moving his head. Tyson had to get em early or he was in trouble.

Young Ali and Homes would have taken him to school. Gorge foreman would have dribbled Tyson like a basketball

Tyson was over rated his record proves it. He beat no one and lost to some real tomato cans...and never once avenged any of those losses

@pounder2day Even if all that is true, so what? If Tyson couldn't concentrate on Business then that marks him down as a fighter. Ali had the US government on his back and death threats from racists, but he always turned up for the fight in peak condition and no excuses.

Douglas exposed Tyson for the limited fighter he was. Douglas controlled the fight with his jab, landed rights at will and even bossed Tyson on the inside. And as the fight went on you could see Tyson losing heart
