@thorpe84 The porterhouse and t-bone are almost identical cuts of meat the only difference being that the porterhouse will have more tenderloin than the t-bone

@TxGrillGuy Tried Smith & Wolensky's? And if you're ever in NYC, Peter Luger's. Best steaks I've ever had.

The key to good home steaks in using USDA prime grade beef. You're only going to get those from premium grocery stores, not from Kroger etc.
The nice steakhouses like Morton's, Ruth's Chris, all use prime meat. Outback, Logan's, and every day steaks from normal places, are all choice meats.
DON"T BE CHEAP, GET PRIME.
And max that grill out, you need it HOT! HOT! HOT!

Mortons is actually my fav "chain" steak house. Bob's Chop House on Lemmon Ave here in Dallas is better....My home cooked are best...Not my opinion, just the people I have cooked for.
I HAD A FILLET MIGNON IN MORTONS STEAKHOUSE ON CANAL STREET IN NEW ORLEANS LAST YEAR AND IT WAS LIKE NOTHING IVE EVER TASTED BEFORE OR SINCE-TRULY SENSATIONAL
