LAX to Ridgecrest

Time lapse video of me driving from LAX airport to Ridgecrest, CA. The one stop in the middle is at a McDonald's off of highway 14 before Palmdale that is all done up in a Wild West theme. Very chic! Notice that traffic (and the McDonald's Drive Thru!) moves very quickly, especially compared to my Ontario to Ridgecrest trip.


Tip: When headed to Ridgecrest, fly into LAX, instead. Ontario airport sucks and it's just as long a drive, but worse traffic and fewer flight options.

@ThisHmongGuy1 Sucks to be you I guess! ;) Although I didn't live there, I spent a lot of time there and got into geology: lots of neat formations and rocks, if you know what you're looking for. I could spend a whole year in Death Valley going over the geological history "written" all around. Good luck!

Garlock. So much easier/nicer than going through Inyokern and the 45/35/25 mph speed zones.

I drive past Ontario every time I go to R/C. I have no problem in making there quickly. You just need to know what time to leave. I have also taken this path from LA to R/C and found it to be much longer, though it was at night and traffic was going a bit slow.

Brings back the old memories. I have family there, and when I took that same road for the first time, it was like WWOWW. the great Mojave Desert !! The 395 !!! And the people there where so kind. Hope to get to Ridgecrest again...

Ridgecrest sucks balls; everybody knows it. You can go riding since the whole place is one big desert but so what ? The people suck, pretend to be from LA, and there is absolutely nothing to do accept go on base; even that gets old after a while. Is this really complicated, look at a sat view of ridgecrest and tell me why the hell would anybody go there ? They all say the same crap: "garlock road did you take garlock road"..Um, did you actually watch the video ?

Being that I was born and raised there and have only gone back 4 times in the last 9 years.. this is a great video to show my OC friends out here that beg me to take them there...Now they can see why I hesitate on the drive. lol This is awesome.
