Very cool, I like how he laid out a game plan and used Boeing as an example as to how we can look to existing industries for the best ways to develop new technologies like thorium based reactors.

So to be clear, he's saying that it can be mined for $330 per kg, right? That would be just about the same cost as the yellowcake value needed to produce 1 kg of 5% enriched LWR fuel. Of course, the LWR fuel is burnt to 4-5% while LFTR fuel would be burnt to 99% or more. In other words, even if we mined this stuff, it would be cheaper than ore costs for present reactors, which is a tiny fraction of fuel cycle costs, which is a tiny fraction of total costs.
So really... functionally free.
