Here I take my prior Marc Jansen sketch and turn it into a value study in preparation for a full painting. The first 10 minutes is done in real time while the following 90 minutes is condensed to 10.

Cliff you did an excellent job on this tutorial. You have a very relaxed manner of speaking and well balanced information. I enjoyed seeing and hearing your process of working. And I especially enjoyed that you pointed out your layers in PS instead of just saying what you did and assuming everyone understands what you mean. Excellent! Also a nice touch to hear from whom you learned your tips.

Thanks! Yeah sometimes I am not sure what tips to give because I don't want to be giving away what others charge for. I learned a lot by taking Jason Seiler's self-study course on Schoolism (a great site with lots of useful info I wish I could afford to take more courses there) as well as watching other channels on here. I love YouTube for that.

Thanks very much for this. Always interesting to learn what others are doing, like comments on drawing skewed, fascinating. Also good to know about upresing after the initial sketch?
