In July 2010, Eyedea and Abilities performed at Open Exposure, a free outdoor concert that mixed emerging teen bands with established local favorites. Nearly 2,000 people gathered on the open field during the course of this daylong festival in support of teen artists, and the draw was in no small part due to Eyedea and Abilities' presence. It was a huge honor to be able to work with such an instrumental contributor to hip hop. Mikey "Eyedea" Larson's death is a tragedy deeply felt among the local and national music community.
If you would like to show your support to the family, music venue First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis will be paying tribute to Eyedea on November 9th, 2010. All ticket sale proceeds go to Michael "Eyedea" Larson's family.
