This story details the cesarean birth of my first daughter Dylyn and the journey of becoming a Doula, Childbirth Educator & Midwife. It ends with the home waterbirth of my son River. The link for Part 2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uy1zgzuQtno
My first pregnancy ended in an emergency c-section & the loss of my son, Alan. My determination for a VBAC and my totally unmedicated VBAC with my daughter Mackenzie two years later is the proudest achievement and most healing experience OF MY LIFE! I, too, am feeling a call to educate women so they can be informed and make the best decisions for themselves and their babies.
Congrats, Mama and thanks so very much for your story....both parts! You are inspiring! (And I love the DMB!!) :)
Your story is so beautiful! I'm proud of you for owning the emotions and brought on by your unnecesarean and channeling them into such a positive and important act of love! Thank you for being a birth advocate.
OMG! I love your video, now I have to find part two! This is how I feel. Having my first @ 21, believing Dr's were the closest thing to god. Now having my 4th, 3 c's later, i have found me voice & a supportive Dr. I too have been looking into becoming a Doula. I started to do research after having me 1st but it took my 5 yrs to find the courage to do what I feel is right inside. I think your trip is amazing and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing this!
