Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

Zack: "Listen, I'm gonna become a mercenary and that's that. Boring stuff, dangerous stuff, anything for money. I'm gonna be rich! So, Cloud? What are YOU gonna do?"
Cloud: "U... uhhh..."
Zack: "I'm just kidding... You know I wouldn't do that to you. We're friends, right? Mercenaries, Cloud. That's what you an' me are gonna be."
-Final Fantasy VII (with a smidge of Crisis Core at the end)

Time once again for Amateur Extension Theater 2000, your one-stop location for awesome music played fifteen minutes or longer. Music Extender 3rd Class Alkahest at your service!

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core is a Square-Enix RPG for the PSP. It serves as a prelude to the events in Final Fantasy VII proper, and focuses on an idealistic, noble young swordsman named Zack Fair. He dreams of becoming a SOLDIER 1st Class, but life, it seems, has plans all its own in store for him...

'Night of Seclusion' is probably one of the most powerful pieces of music from the entire game. We first hear it at a point where Zack has awakened to find that four years of his life have gone by, lost in a haze of nightmares and cruelty. One of his best friends is dead, while another is barely clinging to life, and in a catatonic state from horrors visited upon him by an amoral monster in a white lab coat. As if that weren't enough, Zack also finds himself a fugitive with the world's greatest military superpower seeking to bring him in, dead or alive... possibly just dead. Such is the life of a hero.

This theme has a raw, visceral emotional pull to it that captures the game's overall dramatic, heart-rending narrative and the inescapable nature of UNFEELING NASTY GAME WRITERS WHO MAKE THE WORST ENDINGS EVER. .... sorry, sorry. Ahem! I'm something of a fan of Zack's, as you might've gathered. He is a hero in the truest sense; though initially troubled by his circumstances, Zack manages to endure, pushing forward towards the elusive yet tantalizing goal of freedom, never once forsaking his honor, his dreams, or his best friend: Cloud Strife. I personally feel this, along with his indefatigable optimism and kindness, makes him the best Lead Male Character in the series' history. To each their own, of course.

On a small, lesser note, this is the only extension I've got for you fine viewers this week. In fact, it's been kicking around on my hard drive since November 4th! Oof. Why the one upload? Let's just say real life has unexpectedly hindered my extending efforts a tad; if God is willing, I hope to have more stuff for you all real soon. Take care until then!
