You, like alexosh1234, need to know that you cannot buy talent.
-
parents are good, mine don't love me. :(
-
you should really use the 50mm 1.4 for portraits.... or buy a 85mm 1.8.
-
@BakedFilmsAU you are definitely a noob..... 17mm is a UWA.... sigma 10-20 is for crop body sensor only. You are very confused.
-
@calpitoc Why are you so concerned with other people's money? This is a gear video, so stop whining about how he can afford things and you cant like a baby.
-
The bigger sensor vs. aps-c size creates the better bokeh as well as the small depth of field from the lens.
not hating like other people just asking, if you are into land scapes why do you not own an UWA lens, something like say the sigma 10-20mm lens, you said you had a full frame camera for landscapes, with an UWA you'd still be at around 16mm (35mm equivelant) on a crop body and obviously at 10mm on your 5D

@BakedFilmsAU I dont know if you've ever used a full frame body, but 17mm is pretty damn wide on it. It is an ultra wide angle lens....

I'm my experience the difference between a 1.4 and 1.8 is mostly the price.

@043maasje043 I'm guessing you don't own the 1.4 :P It's a lot more than just additional bokeh and light. You also get way beter AF and much better build quality. I shoot it at 1.4 so it's worth it for me.

@dipmvideos actually i do own it, a 50mm 1.4g and a friend of mine had a 1.8g and i know it lets in more light but the price is way more expensive and therefore you get less for your money. and the build quality is the same. maybe on canon the make the 1.8 lower quality.
if it's worth it to you then that's good i'm just saying that the difference in my experience is mostly the price

@043maasje043 Yup, it might just be that way in the Nikon side, but the nikon 1.8 is actually double that of canons price. What I was saying though is that having 1.4 should be worth it for people that are gonna use it. If you think you get a lot less with the 1.4, then it's probably not the lens for you. The 1.2 is a $1.3k lens, but worth it for people that need it. Thanks for your thoughts, and I get what you're saying! The 0.4 difference in F Stop is just not worth the high price for most!
