  • AWESOME!

  • @user1020 You don't need "tabs" for this, you need ears. Look up open-D tuning, watch what she does with her finger (singular), and practise your shy grin.

  • wow. i badly need to find tabs for this song. anyone know? it's kinda hard finding it on the interwebs as well....

  • This was one of my fav songs back in 98 I was just akid but I still remeber it!

  • WOW!

  • @uhhuhhim I think a lot of times it is the record companies that put up there myspaces so it may have not have been her that read it

  • @wookie37 I took a music theory class in high school and had to withdraw from it because none of it made sense, so I know where you're coming from. I love Open E and Open D. The problem I have with alt tunings is that constant re-tuning can wear strings out faster which is why I usually stay in standard. The sound you can get with them, though, is awesome, but I don't know a lot of alt chord shapes so I never know what to do w/ the tuning once I'm in it. She seems to know a lot, though lol.

  • @uhhuhhim

Yeah well I think we should both learn b/c it looks a LOT easier than reg. chords. I just have no idea even how to get started. I purposely skipped ALL the "Theory" days in guitar classes in college. I know first pos. chords but can't read music or really even tabs. But if someone shows me something it usu. sticks.

  • @wookie37 I have no idea what the tuning is on Sugarite either, but I love it. I do believe that her cover of Ku'u Home O Kahalu'u, which I've uploaded as "Hawaiian Song," is in Open D, but I've never been able to figure out which tunings she uses. I'd love to know the tuning for After All These Years, too, but I don't think she's willing to spill her secrets. I've never really fooled with alt tunings, but I wish I had been patient enough to learn more about them. Sorry I can't help further.

  • @wookie37 Most, if not all, of her music is written with alternate tunings. I'm not sure what tuning she uses for this song. I've tried Open E, but I don't think that's it. And based on her fingerings, I don't think it's Open D either. I actually added her to my Myspace page and asked her if she would give me a list of her favorite tunings. She read the message, but didn't answer (go figure). I was disappointed.
