There are some very specific medications that can only be given within 3 hours of a stroke - they are the "clot-buster" drugs, and if your stroke is due to a blood clot they can mean the difference between a good recovery and a lifetime of total disability. If it's been more than 3 hours, the same drugs can actually kill you if the stroke you had is the hemmorhagic variety and not the blood clot type. Either way you MUST get to the hospital.

This is SO important. I found my dear husband on the floor when I got home from work one night, with no telling how long he had been there. GET TO THE HOSPITAL. That's all you can do. Do it NOW. This is nothing to play around with.
