This is replacing a video that had a lot of glare on the screen. If you saw that one, this is the same content, but the picture is better.
My daughter is disabled and is not able to speak. She has been using AAC (low tech and high tech) since she was about 2 years old.
Since early in 2009, she has been using an app called Proloquo2Go on an iPod touch to communicate. This app became available in the iTunes app store in April 2009 and you can get more information about it at www.proloquo2go.com
That is a great website, set up by the developers of Proloquo2Go. It has a lot of information, including manuals you can download, demonstration and how to videos and a discussion list.

This video is to help people see the skills that are needed to navigate in an iPod or iPhone and help them decide whether or not Proloquo2Go is appropriate for the user. It is also about choosing between and iPhone or an iPod touch.

Parts 2 and 3 of this video will be about ways to increase skill in use of the iPod/iPhone touchscreen and choosing speakers.

  • Here's how to do it. Press the round home button below the iPod screen to get the home screen. Press the Settings button - gray with cogwheel icon. A page of general iPod settings will appear. Wait a few seconds for the app settings to load, then scroll down to the Proloquo2Go icon. Touch that; appearance will be the first choice. Touch that - you will see a heading for Color and one for icon view. You can change color of both backround and text and where to see icons.

  • Thanks.

I learned how to move the P2G icon on the P2G discussion.

Menu bar only holds 4 icons, so you have to move one out to make room for P2G. We moved iTunes. Touch the icon you want to move until it jiggles; when it does you can drag it onto the page. That leaves an empty spot that you can drag the P2G icon to. Be careful not to hit the little x because that will delete it. When it is where you want, hit the home button below the iPod screen. The icons will stop jiggling and set in place.

  • I love this vid definitely helped myself and a friend decide on the 8g itouch we were worried about how much space was needed.. this help clear up alot of worry that we wouldn't find on the official website. thank you so much!

  • was it you who quickly showed the list view on purple background with white writing (no icons)?

I can't find it again now! I was wondering what it looked like and thought I'd already seen it somewhere. official P2G vidoes only show that colour combination in grid mode.

  • Another great video - Thanks so much for sharing!

How did you get P2G to appear in the bottom menu bar?
