http://www.visitnebraska.gov/byways In the late 1800s, this byway was a well-traveled path for transporting gold bullion out of the Black Hills. Today, those in search of gold will find it in the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets that spill across the rugged landscape.

Explore a variety of attractions along 158 miles of America's heartland. The unusual landmarks of Courthouse and Jail Rocks, quirky stops such as Carhenge, and nationally acclaimed mountain biking trails amid forested buttes are a mere sampling of what you will find.

Also take time to acquaint yourself with the area's rich history. Historical museums and attractions tell the story of the early fur trade, military forts, American Indian heritage, pioneer life . . . and even a few wild tales of the Old West.
