Now did you say you had the transmitter inside the house? I only ask because I am assuming most signal loss is from one's smoker/grill being outside and the reciever being inside the home while one is say watching sports with a tasty beverage at their side. And when doing long (low and slow) smoking/BBQing, that would be essential.

We put the transmitter indoors and took the receiver down the street. So our results include the signal passing through the house walls/windows. Clearly, this is the device you need to properly monitor the low and slow action outside while you are monitoring sports action inside (with said beverage).

    Does this model actually work?

My ET-73 has been constantly losing the connection between the transmitter and receiver. Nothing's more frustrating than setting the alarm for an overnight cook then waking up and finding out the transmitter and receiver has lost connection/sync and the smoker's run away to 350*F.

Great video guys! My bbq partner and I have an et-73 and now an et-732 (and an et-7 that has never worked well). Do you know if the probes are interchangeable between units and can an extra food probe go into the smoker probe jack or vice-versa? Thanks!
