Fail Firefly Effect test

Yet another test

The character is there for a 3D effect(it was already there i was too lazy to do another character and its also to make it look like the fireflies are flying around him in a circular motion-this has nothing to do with the series im doing(The book of youkai)) and i didn't add a background because i reckon black is the best.

The reason why i think it's fail is because i didn't get the correct colour

How to do it -Edited version(so people can understand it better...)
Requirements:
-at least 3 layers of your video layers(more if you want it to look more real)
-a program that lets you draw on a transparent background(paint.net, photo shop etc)
-a movie maker program =]

Steps:
1) open up ur drawing program

2)adjust the colours soo its a firefly-ish green

3)draw dots according to layers
Front being biggest and back being smallest

4)put on your video making program and blur according to layers
Front - Most Amount of Blur
Back - Least Amount of Blur

5)Set the opacity to according to the layers(i don't know about other film making programs but i used sony vegas for this step)
Front- 50%(recommended amount)
Middle - 60% - 70% (recommended amount)
Back-80%(recommended amount)

6)make all layers moving different directions
Front- Moves fastest
Back- Movies slowest

7)(optional) add music and a character in between layers to create a 3D effect

The firefly effect will not work out if it is not done with these steps(I'm not really sure lol)

That was really an awesome effect and thanks a bunch for the tutorial :) When you say add movement, how do you get it to loop the firefly image? I'm doing this in Sony Vegas, and I'm trying to use panning to make movement but there's no way to get the image to pan for that long without zooming in a bunch. Just wondering what effect you used :)

@SQUEEKYTHEJANITOR i didn't really use any effects except for blur... and i think if you want to make the pan not zoom while panning it( i don't think that made any sense soo "If you want to move it around but not make it zoom") then there should be an a button on the sidebar which allows you to pan and stuff and there should also be a lock button on the side(i think, idk it has been a while since i've done that..

as for making it loop... i don't know... try making the image(outside sv) bigger

uhmm i lost the original file somewhere soo ill try to remake it sometime without the picture and follow the steps in the description to make your own its easy to understand(i think)
