used to watch him riding for the exeter falcons in england back in the 70s...

I used to do the 120 mile round trip to go watch him and others race in Mildura, 30 odd years ago, was a small price to pay for world class entertainment.

A lot of people forget just what this man did for speedway, he's an absolute legend and a gent, great vid.

The Galloping Mauger. Six times World Speedway Champion. Perhaps, the "greatest" racer of all time. A bit fortunate to take the World Title in 1972, Ivan was beaten by both Barry Briggs and Ole Olsen. "Fate", however was not on their side that night at Wembley.

What a champ! I remember him racing in Australia along with John Boulger , Jim Airey, Phil Crump, Ole Olson & Nigel Boocock. They were superstars back then.
