My Test of the Flip Ultra Camcorder

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE HD VERSION OF THE FLIP.

I opened my new Flip Ultra camcorder in my car after purchasing it at Walmart for $160. I'll say that for my purposes (vlogging among other things) it's a great little camera. I can't believe it records at 30 frames per second. That rocks.

For those wondering:
Natively it records video in the MPEG-4 format (Advanced Simple Profile) and outputs them as AVI files. This is the same file format you see on most cheap camcorders and digital still cameras that offer video functionality. All video is shot in 640 x 480 at 30 fps which is a good size for youtube. I used QT pro ($30) to export the video from .avi to .mp4 ONLY for sizing purposes. If you want a free alternative, I recommend mpeg streamclip. Use the same size settings of 640x480 and 30fps. Then choose mp4 as your output setting.
