INGREDIENTS:
Recipe for 4 servings:
2 large boiled potatoes
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
pinch of hing (asafoetida)
2 teaspoons gram flour or all purpose
1 bay leaf
4 tablespoons yogurt
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon fine chopped green chilly
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1 1/2 cups of water

  • Sorry to ask. I tried re-listening...but I can't find when you add the Bay Leaf? It seemed to suddenly appear at the end? Sorry to sound so simple. Anna

    add the bay leaf in begaining with cumin seeds.

  • Hi Mrs. Manjula, can this recipe be used for other vegetables like radish or caulifloer? If no, could you suggest some alternatives to potato except paneer?

    Radish may be but cauliflower or green peas will be good.

  • Thank you majula. I'm maori and my sister married a pakistani. As they both work I cook dinner and find it hard to think of what to make besides nihari, dahl and briyani. Thankyou for giving me ideas as I'm completely lost , and the best thing is I have all the ingredient. Just didnt know what to make.
