Dr. Edwards answers board meetings are for the board but are public meetings. She believes that this openness of information via eBOARD has given the public more trust and they have even fewer questions than before. That the vision, mission and how an item relates to their goals as well as the fiscal is available for all to see prior to the meeting. That people get first hand information that is accurate.
Dr. Perry adds that the local newspaper there was an editorial by a city council person who praised the board for their openness (the city council does not use eBOARD). They also publish their policies for public review and input via eBOARD prior to approval by the board.
Mr. Churchill agrees that easy access to this information is positive for the board members and for the public. The media has access to clear and factual information immediately after a board meeting.
