Pretty much. I'm 23, so no rose-colored glasses. The Wildcat can't track its way out of a paper bag, sounds really resonant, has a case that literally rattles on some notes, thrashes vinyl, is bassless, and generally, looks quality only compared to a crystal-equipped manual phono.
I still like mine (irony?,) but I wholly admit it actually tracks and sounds worse than the gawdawful nostalgia tables, never mind a twenty buck magnetic pickup.
That one looks identical. I have the exact same one, but it has the same record changer as mine and his '74 GE Automatic except his are red and mine is white.
I love the winding mechanism on a GE Wildcat, looks the same as mine with an auto shutoff which was gently turned off instead of snap.
I have that same exact one except mines has the F-shaped overarm that currently messed up on it. It will drop too low after the last record and get in the way of the tonearm keeping it from landing on the record. Also if I run the change cycle with the overarm in the raised position, it will drop down and again get in the way of the tonearm. It has a busted armrest too.
