Pavel Staněk's symphonic poem "Columbus" was composed for a wind orchestra and was for the first time performed in Barcelona, 1992. It brilliantly evokes the atmosphere of a late middle-age sail. It consists of these parts:

1. The Prayer
2. In the Seaport
3. The Sail

4. Calm
5. The Storm
6. Land
7. Thanksgiving
8. Hymn
