Another original song. I don't know why the audio is so bad, but I'll post a better version later.
Been quite some time
Since I took my oath-
Swore I would never, never
Come back here.
But here I am.
Wheat running across my hand
Country home, want you take me back.
I've put many miles
Between myself and thee-
Tried a little too hard,
Just to be free.
But here I am.
Hide me neath the shade of your tree-
Old country home, want you take me back?
The day's been short, the night's been long
When hard times fall on a man,
You know he can go wrong
So here I am-
I ask you to take me this way.
Country home, want you take me back?
Now down the river I glide-
My face toward the earth,
My back to the sky.
And here I am.
Oh, Lord, won't you lift me up high?
Then, to my country home-
Want you take me back?
Okay, so the lyrics are a little cheesy!
Great sound! I really like the picking in your song! Wish there wasn't a humming electric sound in the background so i could hear the lyrics more clearly. I'm going to rate you with 5 stars! I'm also a guitar/fiddle player and my friend is a guitar and songwriter.Check our country music videos when you have a chance. One is called, "Heroes of my youth, and "Sunday mornin times." Again great job on yours!
