  • You can trim them with a clipper using a 10 blade. Ask your groomer to follow up with 7.5 blade for a polished look. I would leave the hair on the head, but if the beard is matted, get it trimmed as well and try to brush it in the future. Trim the ears off and the body. If they don't like their feet done---leave little boots on, they look amazingly cute with boots. Bath them in our oatmeal & aloe shampoo & conditions for a wonderful aroma :)

  • i have a six month old brt i love her. but she needs a cut and nobody around here has even heard of the breed. any tips on cutting.

  • We are planning on doing a couple of videos with scissoring demos on them. The key to everything is using the right products and the right equipment! Make sure you subscribe so you can get the latest up dates. Also, take a look at the kerry blue & schnuazer videos. They can give you some ideas on scissoring techniques.

  • Great video! Will that particuler song help with the grooming? I usually play Buffett, southern rock, country when I groom my 2 Blackies.

  • The song at least seems to motivate me for the job! :-)

  • Great Video. I love the Black Russian Terriers. They are so intelligent and the fact that they barely shed is awesome.

I am currently in the market for one now.

He will have to be a giant though, lol.

  • Hope you find the beautiful dog you are looking for.

  • NEVER EVER EVER TRIM BEARD OR FALL .............Unless medically necessary!!!

  • @MrMFurniss You can find Lucy Rakers grooming video at BRTCA.org or You can see if you can contact Olga Kornienko, she has a wonderful book called shaping the Shadow. She sells them at nationals and by request...each is considered proper grooming, yet slightly different. Good luck.

  • I have a 5 month old BRT and my groomer has no idea how to groom her. I would love it if you could make a video that I could buy for her. No one around here in Northern California even knows what they are

  • Gorgeous dogs! I can't seem to find a BRT breeder in New England. You wouldn't happen to know of any, would you? I keep hitting dead ends. :/
