Dang. This is really cool. I'm not sure how I stumbled onto this, but I'm glad I did. I've always appreciated "nano-derived" color, but didn't know that's what it was. Thanks KQED and thanks Kate Nichols for opening my mind to what my eyes already appreciated.

KQED i expected more from you, 5:40, this is not surface plasmon resonance that is represented, this is plasma resonance.
If I am incorrect about this I am sorry, please respond to me and correct me...

@MaBuSt We vetted this animation with scientists at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, and they concurred this was an accurate description of surface plasmon resonance.
